THE ROLE

Due to our continued growth, an opportunity has arisen to join Beaver Williams in the role of Senior Fire Service Tester / Panel Technician. In this role, you will carry out monthly, bi annual and annual testing and inspections on various Fire Safety Systems as well as fault finding and repairs/replacements when required ensuring equipment conforms to operating specifications and customer requirements. You will complete panel diagnosis, replacements in addition to circuit upgrades, light replacement and liaison with the account manager to ensure accurate quotes are provided to the clients. To succeed in this role, in-depth knowledge of programming of Notifier, AMPAC, Brooks, Tyco and Honeywell systems is essential. You will provide technical assistance and supervision to other field technicians when required. Identify and create opportunities to quote on, through but not limited to, innovation, forward planning, and upgrade works.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of experience as a fire technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a panel technician.

  • Cert II or III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (desirable)

  • Cert III in Electrotechnology or equivalent (desirable).

  • Electrical license (desirable)

  • Supervisor’s licence (desirable) 

  • Contractor’s licence (desirable)

  • FPA accreditation for inspecting and testing all fire measures (desirable)

  • Communication both written and verbal, leadership, time management, customer service, fault finding, interpreting technical data, and teamwork skills.
